Sure the Red Shirts have voted to defund O’Care, what, 30-something times, but they (of course) haven’t succeeded. I don’t think they’ve managed to peel back the ACA on anything at all (maybe a tiny bit for religious exemptions for birth control?).
ObamaCare was designed to kick in over time, phasing in step-by-step. Republican obstructionism doesn’t have anything to do with why it’s “taking so long” – it’s taking so long because it was designed to take this long.
I think the broader point that the cartoon makes is that it took a battle to get it in place, then a supreme Court decision to validate its legality, many states refusing to expand Medicare and now the House is passing legislation to delay its implementation for another year. What’s that spell? O-B-S-T-R-U-C-T-I-O-N-I-S-M.
Side note: I’m going to dearly love throwing those 39 (and counting!) repeal votes back at Red Shirts in a few years when they try to pretend like it was all their idea.

My advice to the GOP is to let the ACA go into effect fully as soon as possible. Then make sure the Democrats finger prints are all over it. Maybe then when the crash happens history won’t be able to hide all the evidence to the failure of the progressive movement in America. I doubt it, but at least it may give us a chance in the next system that comes in to clean up the mess created by the progressive failed experiment.
FL, I agree somewhat….it is law…get over it…..let it go into full effect and then revisit it….stop all the show votes that accomplish nothing….there are people hungry…time for the pathetic clowns to get down to work….chuq
