Rats Abandon A Sinking Ship

This is just amazing……daily there are reports of political rats leaving the ship of government…..call it retirement if you would like….but the real word is COWARDICE…

Why cowardice?  These people are running scared for their political future and want to leave at their own choice not that of the voters….these people are NOT into politics for the betterment of the country but rather their own egos…..

The sinking ship that I refer to is that of government……the vehicle is not doing well…..these pathetic souls are more worried about how it will look if they are defeated than the enrichment of the American people…egos…superficial pr*cks…..

Look at Kennedy of RI or Lincoln of Arkansas or Dodd of Conn or Dorgan of SD or Bayh of Ind and on and on……in the House alone so far 14 GOP are not running and 10 Dems….

They are leaving the ship of government for all the same reasons…..(pause of effect)…..that ship is a rudderless vehicle that has NO direct with the exception of driving it onto the rocks…..the system NO longer works…it is a dysfunctional system that has NO chance of righting itself ……the system that the Founders were so proud of is a complete bust…..just look at the workings of the legislative branch….NOTHING is getting done while the country suffers…..

Yes these guys and gals will be replaced….but with what?…will it be a new batch of nare-do-wells or will we finally get people that are interested in the plight of the country……my guess would be that the replacements will be No better than those they replace…..NOTHING will change until the people actually care about the country and stop worrying about their petty little issues…..The country is dying of a slow cancer…..a cancer of indifference…..

  1. You are probably entirely right – after all you will know who they are and what they’re like – but they could claim (and might even possibly be) the ones who can see the pointlessness of further struggle to try to make something so rotten and twisted work as it was once intended. 🙁

    1. I doubt that…they are after all politicians…..they created the monster of a rudderless ship and they want off the decks before it crashes onto the rocks (sorry about the nautical stuff….I am having a moment)….they have pans for later and do not want a defeat on their record that can be used against them….they care less about the country….it is always about them…

      1. I have little doubt you’re right… a few decades ago… well, it might have been much more likely to be other reasons as I suggested.

      2. My grandfather told me when I was young that there we three types of people that were not trustworthy…..a Baptist preacher, a used car salesman and a politician……the man was a genius!

      3. True””he was 96 so he did not have much to do with lawyers and especially real estate……but I am sure that he would have included them…..

  2. It’s funny how when Republicans were retiring in droves after the beatings they took in 06 and 08, there wasn’t this national firestorm about how they were giving up.

    1. Hi Chris… I agree and to liosten to the media and the Dems are just running scared for their political reputation….I believe that it is correct on a certain level….but we have an opportunity to elect those that are truly interested in helping the American people but we will just elect another clone of the one we just got rid of…..Americans need to learn to think outside of the box….and give a third party a chance to either improve things or crap out like all the others…..

      1. I think the best chance for a third party insurgency was in 2008. The wars were still fresh in everyone’s mind, and the economy was in shambles. The situation is still crappy now, but it’s not as scary.

      2. You may be right……but we are brained washed to believe that only the two party system will save us from whatever is looming……that makes us look for our answer within the status quo….I think it is not the answer……

  3. Is there a third option? Can I NOT care about these pricks, as you call them, OR the enrichment of the American people? Who gives a shit what happens to America. This idea that everyone’s future is tied to it is naive, and no one outside America believes that.

    1. Hiya TOG nice to see you again……but the actions of these people does effect the American people and their families, jobs and livelihood…..I am not sure that any person that wants to play this game is in effect a rep of the people….more like a rep for whichever corporation is funding their run…..Is their a third option? I can think of several…..term limits…..ban on lobbyists (this one is not ever gonna happen), even participatory democracy would be a better way…..just a couple of quick thoughts…..
