Pirates Of The Aden: Curse Of The Small Boat

WARNING:  THIS POST MAY CONTAIN POINTS THAT MAY OFFEND SOME READERS

By now most Americans have seen or heard the continuing sage of the pirates operating just south of the Gulf of Aden in the Indian Ocean just off the coast of Somalia.  Their most recent acquisition was an American flagged ship.  THe captain gave himsel fup to insure the safety of his crew and is being held in a small life boat about 300 miles off the coast.  The US Navy has responded, the ship has continued on his way to deliver aid supplies to Kenya sans captain with armed Americans on board the Navy destroyer has stayed behind to try and get the captain to be released.  A Mexican stand-off.  Over 60 hours with an FBI negotiator and not much success and more naval vessels to join the destroyer.

My problem is that the hand full of pirates is controlling the situation…they are holding the US Navy at bay.  What happened to the false bravado that we do not negotiate with terrorist….and make NO mistake pirates are terrorists!  The US has let this situation get out of hand.  These pirates have now become some what of a group of local heroes…they have stood up to the US Navy and are winning.

Sorry to say, but there is only one way to handle this….the French are doing it…..attack them……make them pay for their brazenness.  The captain accepted his fate when he offered himself up as a hostage for the safety of his crew….a brave man and he should receive the highest award for that bravery…but do not sullen his bravery by wimping out in the face of a hand full of pirates with brass cajones.

By doing nothing, the US has almost guaranteed that this will occur again and again, if decisive action is taken and taken now then the chance that future stand offs could be eliminated.  The cost will be high but the return will be less cost in the future.

Once again if you were offended by this post then I apologize but you were warned!

  1. This is a prime example of how weak America has become. We allow a few degenerates to hold an entire navy at bay, WHO’s THE IDIOTS HERE!! One missle launched into that boat will send a direct message toall who dare!!

    1. Hgates welcome aboard…..I do not know if I could agree with the weak part….but maybe the stupid part then yes…..the captain when offered up himself as a hostage had pretty much resigned himself to not leaving alive.

  2. Actually, it looks like the US Navy is holding the pirates at bay.
Four mother ships have attempted to assist the pirates, and all 4 have been turned back by the US Navy warships and aircraft. Three mother ships now sit in port, and the fourth, a Norwegian tanker has been released for a measly 2 million ransom.
No US Navy ships have been turned back, and no ransom has been paid, except by the Norwegians.
These so-called local heroes, even failed to capture the ship, because the unarmed crew fought back.
Soon the USS Boxer will arrive with her Harrier jets, attack helicopters, Marines, and USN Seal teams.
They will wait until dark, slip some knockout gas into the boat, and kill all the pirates.
The captain may also die in rescue attempt, but at least he will have a fighting chance. The boxer has one of the best hospitals around.
After that, everybody will be flying American flags in pirate infested waters.

    1. Rose, thanx for the comment…….the US is wasting time and energy…the first destroyer could have and should have handled the situation. These so called pirates are miserable individuals and to give them any time is more than they deserve. You do not think that they will not use the fact that it took 4 Navy ships to end this situation to their advantage? We are negotiating with terrorists and I thought that was a no-no. There is a time for a time for cowboy BS of the past 8 years and now would be a good time to use it.

  3. Unarmed, oprhaned, underaged freedom fighters get in the way of Zion oil interests and – POOF! Bushitler lets us know hes still on control behind the scenes.

Did I get that right? Please, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Michael Moore, Sean Penn, somebody praise me, please!
