Just a post that lets my readers know just how moronic politicians can be when they open their slimy mouths…….
First up is the candidate of Lt Gov of Virginia……
Virginia Lt. Gov candidate E.W. Jackson (R) said that Americans “should remember” the country’s history of slavery, but “not wallow in it,” the Hampton Roads Daily Press reports.
He stressed that it was “not slavery that eroded the black family but government policies in the 1960s.”
Said Jackson: “In 1960 most black children were raised in two parent monogamous families. By now, by this time, we only have 20 percent of black children being raised in two parent monogamous families with a married man and woman raising those children. It wasn’t slavery that did that. It was government that did that trying to solve problems that only God can solve, and that only we as human beings can solve.”
And then another Repub has to open his ignorant mouth…..
In a speech Monday on the House floor, Gingrey stressed his continued support for the Defense of Marriage Act — which defines marriage as only union between a man and a woman — and suggested that children need to be carefully taught about the traditional roles of their genders:
GINGREY: You know, maybe part of the problem is we need to go back into the schools at a very early age, maybe at the grade school level, and have a class for the young girls and have a class for the young boys and say, you know, this is what’s important. This is what a father does that is maybe a little different, maybe a little bit better than the talents that a mom has in a certain area. And the same thing for the young girls, that, you know, this is what a mom does, and this is what is important from the standpoint of that union which we call marriage.”
Continuing with stupid……this from a think tank…..the American Center For Democracy……..
While many of the fires that have scorched millions of acres and destroyed thousands of homes in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and other states have been identified as arson, none have been publicly attributed to criminal or terrorist groups, despite the presence of Mexican gangs and large number of other illegals in our Western states … How many Tzarnaevs are hiding in Colorado’s woods?
Could any organization that makes such ignorant claims be called a “Think Tank”?
And then there are candidates that have NO scruples and make wild claims…….
Montgomery County GOP Chairman Jim Allen emailed the website Republican News Watch with his remarks about former Miss America Erika Harold, who will challenge incumbent Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL) in the Republican primary for Illinois’ 13th congressional district.
“Rodney Davis will win and the love child of the D.N.C. will be back in Shitcago by May of 2014 working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires,” he wrote. “… Now, miss queen is being used like a street walker and her pimps are the DEMOCRAT PARTY and RINO REPUBLICANS.”
And then there are politicians that use conspiracy nut jobs as fact…….New Hampshire state Rep. Stella Tremblay (R)……
Just a week after the Boston bombings, the birther lawmaker had posted a link a link to an Alex Jones video on Glenn Beck’s Facebook page. Tremblay suggested that Saudi nationals, Secretary of State John Kerry and “black ops” soldiers had conspired to carry out the attack.
Recently Speaker has been embarrassed by the failure of a farm bill….but the best best of the defeat was all the crap spread by idiots like Rep. Gohmert of Texas…….when addressing the food stamp issue within the bill said…..
On the other hand, Gohmert said, poor people were using food stamps to buy food that other Americans could not afford. He claimed his “broken-hearted” constituents had repeatedly told him they had seen people use food stamps to buy king crab legs.
“Because he does pay income tax, he doesn’t get more back than he pays in, he is actually helping pay for king crab legs when he can’t pay for them for himself,” Gohmert explained.
“How can you begrudge somebody who feels that way,” he added. “How can you begrudge anyone who steps up on behalf of constituents who feel that way. We don’t want anyone to go hungry, and from the amount of obesity in this country by people who we’re told do not have enough to eat, it does seem like we could have a debate about this issue without allegations about wanting to slap down or starve children.”
These people just do not realize how moronic they sound every time they make a statement like this…….they just get more pathetic…..
I lost a lot of respect for Red State’s Eric Erickson when he jumped on the idiot bandwagon about women becoming the family bread winners……and then there is Jeb Bush, who I thought would be a good choice for the GOP in the future…..but likie Eric he had to be stupid……..
Jeb Bush has created a stir with remarks he made during a speech on immigration, in which he said that women who immigrate to America are more fertile than women who are born in the country.
“Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans, over the last 20 years,” Bush said. “Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.”
And then there is another GOP state rep that just had to show their ignorance…………the debate on the new abortion bill being debated in Texas……this rep said with a straight face……..
Texas Republican (of course) Rep. Jodie Laubenberg, who had this to say while denying an exception for rape in the draconian abortion bill Texas Republicans (of course) are in the process of jamming through the legislative process:
In the emergency room, they have what’s called rape kits, where a woman can get cleaned out.
And to beat all….she is……a WOMAN.
Even organizations pass on crap information like this woman who works for an anti-abortion place……. Cleveland’s Womankind “maternal and prenatal care” center,
“It sounds like the morning after pill. If you have intercourse and then take this pill and it causes a period to come on or something, or bleeding. It’s like having kind of an abortion.” She adds, “That could harm you. It really could harm you … You could hemorrhage from anything like that.”
Finally, we have a completely ignorant statement on the SCOTUS DOMA ruling……
“I think this is the conundrum and gets back to what you were saying in the opening — whether or not churches should decide this. But it is difficult because if we have no laws on this people take it to one extension further. Does it have to be humans?
“You know, I mean, so there really are, the question is what social mores, can some social mores be part of legislation? Historically we did at the state legislative level, we did allow for some social mores to be part of it. Some of them were said to be for health reasons and otherwise, but I’m kind of with you, I see the thousands-of-year tradition of the nucleus of the family unit. I also see that economically, if you just look without any kind of moral periscope and you say, what is it that is the leading cause of poverty in our country? It’s having kids without marriage. The stability of the marriage unit is enormous and we should not just say oh we’re punting on it, marriage can be anything.”
So goes another week of douche bags attempting to be relevant….they fail every time!
Reminds me of a quote by John Stuart Mill…….I am not saying that all conservs are stupid, only that most of the people I know that are stupid are conserv”…….
Yep. Pretty stupid. But then it takes stupid to elect stupid so can you imagine living within that constituency?
“I lost a lot of respect for Red State’s Eric Erickson when he jumped on the idiot bandwagon …”
I find hard to believe you had ANY respect for Erickson? 🙁 You’re a better man than me if you saw something of lasting value in this guy.
Larry, there was a time that he was writing about the GOP having no future without the big tent policy…he crap all over his statements…I give a lot of people the benefit of the doubt…..he got it and he LOST it!
I was going to say pretty much the same thing. Bachmann won 4 elections (or was it 5?)…. The electorate was crazier than her.
John, it does pose the question as to the sanity of some voters….
Once you had to own land to qualify to vote. Now you should have to demonstrate you’re in possession of a functioning brain.
That could eliminate thousands…..
