In my writings and discussions that I have with fellow analysts and political geeks….I am always looking for the easiest ways to piss off a conserv….it always throws them off their argument….if you can find that one statement that can do the most to confuse and frustrate your enemy (by enemy, I am talking about a debate opponent….not some lunatic thing that all conservs are fascist or some such)……..
Personally, I am tired of being called….socialist……un-American…….etc…….there has got to be another way to fight these accusations………

I just had to post the entire list…..a wonderful list…..and a great debate tool…..thanx for the assistance…..so my friends find the ones that will help you control your debate with your conserv counterparts and watch their heads explode!
Choose your verbal weapons and get busy!
Side note: A reader, Kendrick of Prince and Little Prince, has pointed out that this is offensive……I can see why he would think that way…..so let me say that I intended this to be a weapon to use against insults leveled at liberals……I by NO means feel this way about people that want to have a real conversation….I apologize to serious analysts and observers….I just wish there were more of you on the blogosphere……
Lobotero, your list is wildly inaccurate, and genuinely offensive in parts. But I gather that’s what you wish. I would wish otherwise. I would wish you could see a Republican, like me, as not an “idiot” (for rudimentary starters). And then we could talk. I would wish some of the preposterous bile in that list didn’t tickle liberals like yourself quite so much. I would wish extended lists of silly and bigoted cliches and stereotypes didn’t pass for substantive dialogue on the left. I would wish the blogosphere were more dedicated to dialogue than to demonizing. I would wish my son, and everyone’s child, never had to witness revolting nonsense like this: “76. Inside every Republican is a Klansman or a Nazi waiting to bloom.” I would wish that people were better than this bullshit.
Morning Kendrick…thanx for stopping by……first of all it is not my list….second I too wish they were better….I have been writing and observing and have been called a wide array of things….by both right and left……..and I also agree that the blogosphere were more about actual debate…but unfortunately it is not….it is more about seeing who can insult the best……..personally, I do not view you as such or I would not visit your writings….but unfortunately, you are an exception rather than a rule……
Once again thanx for the comment…….
Thanks lobotero. I’ve always appreciated your visits, and, as liberal as you are and as conservative as I am, I’ve always felt like we enjoyed mutual respect. I guess that’s what disturbed me about that list. It’s juvenile demonization, the kind of thing thoughtless teenagers would find titillating. I’m guessing it was drafted by a teenager, or a very stuck grown-up. From your bio, I know you are neither a teenager nor a very stuck grown-up. You’re simply liberal, and you really dislike what you perceive Republicans and conservatives to be doing. I get that. But is there really any percentage in catering to the stupid left by demonizing the right? And so ineptly? You tend to engage on the merits in your posts. You’re angry sometimes, and you certainly hammer conservatives — but you don’t do it stupidly, like 2/3 of that list. Why would you wish to promote stupidity in political discourse? How much of that list do you honestly believe is true? We could have what you call below a “real debate on real issues” if you identify what you believe to be true versus untrue in that ridiculous list. Otherwise, we’re just parrying Junior High School Young Democrat Talking Points. Ha ha ha, but not the kind of discourse I thought you wanted.
Kendrick……good question……and all I can say is stupid begets stupid………it basically stemmed from a conversation I tried to have with a Tea Partyer…….it degraded to I am a socialist or a pinko fag as the person accused me of being……and unfortunately I let anger get the better part of honor….I read the list and thought back to my exchange…the anger was still there…..but you are right and I appreciate being made to face my short coming……
Kendrick….so about to find out what the commotion outside was……I live in Mississippi and unfortunately the only way to have a substantial political conversation is with bumper sticker slogans….it is all they understand….it is like that kid that pokes you with a stick, over and over, and eventually you snap and retaliate. I recall a couple of decades ago, I considered being called a liberal an insult….but I grew up and learn to live with it…….Thanx again…..
I would wish Republicans would disavow Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, Michelle B, Ricky P, Fox News and all the other full time haters on the right, including the majority of the House of Representatives, rather than cherry picking 1% of the above list for “substantive” arguments sake. (Especially since I agree with you about 76 – Republican politicians are more likely fundamentalist oligarchs and plutocrats (or their lapdogs) than Klansman or Nazis.)
Quotidian…like I said to Kendrick…..I say fight fire with fire….insult for insult….maybe when they tire of that then they can start a real debate on real issues….
truth hurts. doesn’t it?
You would wish extended lists of silly and bigoted cliches and stereotypes didn’t pass for substantive dialogue on the left? What? So it’s okay for Cons to use it but not Liberals. Lobotero, there is another one for the list. What I see in this list is a lumping of Republicans in order to humorize us and it works. Republicans have made “lumping” an art form and are quite good at it themselves. Republicans are not Klansmen however Klansmen are Republicans for an example. I have learned over the years to put up with Republican “bile” that is thrown at me each day. I believe that you could learn also, Mr. Macdowell.
Randy thanx for the visit….Repubs have been using these types of attacks since 1917….or should I say conservs…..not all conservs are GOP……..and as a so called “leftist” i have heard them all also….and probably for a lot more years…….I agree this is NOT the way for a dialogue to begin or to end…….
Great debate tools indeed. Sadly it seems that the radical right prefers to pontificate rather than debate.
Hi Hansi….I am sorry to say….it looks that way…..
these were funny because it’s TRUE!
one more thing @Kendrick Mcdowell – did you even read the post title – looks like this list has done it’s job!
madsuncaribou, I don’t think you’re appreciating my objection, nor, given that you call the list “TRUE!” does it appear you’re capable of appreciating my objection. There is a way to have civil political dialogue. It begins with mutual respect. The merits of issues that divide us are invariably complex, as the president has said repeatedly. They require serious inquiry. They do not lend themselves neatly to preposterous stereotype and demonization of the juvenile sort evident in the list. President Obama would find this list offensive and disavow it immediately if his campaign were somehow associated with it. He is an adult that way. This list is for kids.
