Popularity Is Everything!

There is polls on everything including a poll on polls…..so to say that the country is leaning one way or the other is just silly and all it does is add to the confusion of the voter.

Like a poll I saw the other day…..

President Trump has crossed the critical 50% approval line needed to win reelection as millennials and independents are moving to embrace him, according to a new survey.

The latest Zogby Poll put Trump’s approval rating at 51%, his highest ever in the trademarked survey.

Zogby Analytics pollster Jonathan Zogby said that the president is riding a booming economy and could be hard to beat should the nation’s economic health continue to improve.

His survey found that several groups that had been leaning against Trump were starting to favor him in large part because they have growing confidence in the economy and Trump’s handling of it. Notably millennials and independents have turned in his direction.

These are same voters that the MSM tells us as late as last week that were leaning toward Bernie…..

But beyond all this……I want to ask these voters …..what economy?

Higher prices for consumer goods…low wages….inequality in income……loan debt…..where is the booming economy?  Or better yet….for whom is it booming?

Besides how can anyone be a supporter of a person that lies with ease…has more excuses than hairs on his head….(without toupee)…..he and his entourage are expanding and possibly started a war…….I do not understand……economy is not booming (The U.S. has the lowest median wealth (as a percentage of average wealth) in the developed world.) and society sucks….what is there to like about this booming economy?

  1. I remember 2016. The Polls all said that Trump couldn’t win, and that the UK would vote to Remain in the EU.
I take them with the proverbial pinch of salt, chuq.
    🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Especially this far out from the election….geez so much could change……anyone that believes this crap is just gullible….chuq

  2. One measure that the economy is booming is that unemployment is at its lowest in many decades and continues to drop. Others who gave up even looking for work have entered the workforce. I recall one estimation that there are as many as 2 million jobs available for which there are no applicants and this will cause wages to rise as business must compete for the pool of truly qualified workers and are even willing to provide training at company expense. On the other hand for millions of poor working saps a booming economy and banner stock market rebounds really don’t seem to trickle down. The blue collar worker remains in a rut but a rise in manufacturing at home is a way to regain and improve some earning power. Trump should get credit for these renegotiated trade deals as they help American workers which is more sensible than taxing the walthy and redistribute wealth by welfare. . A return to a 2 track curriculum in high school ( vocational and college) instead of the 1 track for all college prep curriculum would prepare more young people to enter the workforce. Many college grads remain unemployable because their degree in film history or feminist literature or liberation poetry doesn’t qualify them for employment. “An economy that works for all” is a democrat mantra. A booming economy brings opportunity for the talented in entrepreneurship but a working man is kind of stuck. How will it ever work for him ? If jobs came with a pension and health insurance again , now that would be a very measurable uplift. A unionized workforce will bring more benefits than welfare. The union busting can be combated.

    1. Employment is great if you want a low pay service job…..grads are looking for a job that will let them pay down their loans as well as give them enough left over to eat…..and there is a economy that wo9rks for all and we do not have one chuq

  3. My opinion is that our economic problems are due to technology/automation/robots and globalization first. I don’t know what can be done quickly to help. Too much military spending is next Our taxes policy of low top rates had helped increase he problem with wealth inequality. A different tax policy would help here.

No short term solution in sight.

You said above “have started a war”
I think “have increased the danger of a war starting”
I still doubt that a war with Iran will happen. I assume you were talking about a war with Iran.

    1. Iran yes but also any future war….there are better ways of handling situations than war. With a Congress with a spine we could have a new tax policy by next year…..but that would take courage and that is in short supply in DC chuq
