Random Thoughts On A Sunday #1

On weekends I try to pick a subject that will inform as well as entertain and some days I just cannot find that hook at all…..so I will be posting what I call “Random Thoughts On a Sunday (Saturday)……

I read a piece that could very well be a script for a bad scifi movie…..”Revenge Of The Sex Doll”……..

According to Nicholas Patterson, a cybersecurity lecturer at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, humanoid sex robots that have recently hit the market could potentially be hacked and turned into killing machines.

Sex Robots?  Are we ready for this trend?
Next Random Thought—last month I wrote a post about those people that still actually believe the earth is flat…..https://lobotero.com/2019/01/27/is-the-earth-flat/
You might ask…how can this be in the 21st century?
Researchers believe they have figured out why a growing number of people all around the world believe that the Earth is flat. Texas Tech University assistant professor of science communication Asheley Landrum says interviews with 30 “Flat Earthers” at conventions in 2017 and 2018 revealed that all but one of them decided our planet wasn’t a sphere after watching YouTube videos, the Guardian reports. “The only person who didn’t say this was there with his daughter and his son-in-law and they had seen it on YouTube and told him about it,” Landrum said at an event run by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
“There’s a lot of helpful information on YouTube but also a lot of misinformation,” Landrum says. “Their algorithms make it easy to end up going down the rabbit hole, by presenting information to people who are going to be more susceptible to it.” She urged scientists to counter videos like “200 Proofs Earth Is Not a Spinning Ball” by releasing their own videos saying “here’s why those reasons aren’t real and here’s a bunch of ways you can research it for yourself.” Google said earlier this year that it plans to gradually reduce YouTube recommendations for potentially harmful misinformation “such as videos promoting a phony miracle cure for a serious illness, claiming the earth is flat, or making blatantly false claims about historic events like 9/11,” CNET reports.
Remember that yahoo who was going to last himself into space to prove the earth was flat?
That is about all the energy I have on this Sunday…..enjoy your day…..be well, be safe…..chuq

  1. I don’t get the idea of sex dolls or sex robots. Where’s, the warmth, the flaws, the after-sex talking? For me, they seem to miss the point completely. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Some people will have sex with people of the same sex, inflatable dolls, animals, children, … Should not surprise anybody that there is an interest in robots.

Flat earth? So long as we are only talking about small numbers, that’s a rather harmless delusion. The solution is to get government out of the education business. What we should fear is a monopoly that teaches an entire generation to believe something that is disastrously untrue, like Socialism works.

    1. No surprise just the surprise that some would prefer it..

Disagree without a standardized education then we have what we have now…bullshit being taught by idiots. chuq

Ignorance is not the problem. Ignorance is not a sin. Problems arise when we refuse to admit our ignorance. The electorate errors when we think know than we do, and we won’t leave each in peace and mind our own business.

The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so. — Ronald Reagan

      2. “Stupidity is the deliberate cultivation of ignorance”….you are right ignorance is not a sin but feeding it with stupid is…….chuq

    1. I will have to bow to you for sin is subjective and I do not see ignorance as a sin…stupid is a lethal sin…and we have a wealth of that these days chuq

      1. @lobotero

Is sin subjective? Is stupidity subjective? Is willful ignorance subjective?

Sin is doing something wrong even though we know it is wrong. Therefore, to the sinner a sin is objectively wrong, but a sinner either rationalizes their behavior or shamelessly ignores the fact that what they do is wrong.

What is subjective about the matter of sin? We lack the capacity to read each others minds. Because of that, it is difficult for us to distinguish simple ignorance from willful ignorance in another person. That is why we don’t have the capacity to judge the soul of another person. All we can we do is inspect the fruit of another person’s life. When someone leaves a trail of disasters, dead bodies and destruction in the extreme case, we can rightly fear that person.

      2. Stupid is easily spotted…..but I assume that one would want to……we can turn anything into a sin if we disagree with it…..sin is subjective…..ignorance is fixable and stupid is lethal…..chuq

      3. @lobotero

Sin is lethal eternally. Mere ignorance? We cannot know everything. So ignorance is not fixable. There will always be things we do not know we want to know, even need to know.

Is stupidity easily spotted? No. We all sin, and we are all willfully ignorant of our own sins.

1 John 1:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Just as birds of a feather flock together, sinners join to support each other in their favorite sins. It is easier to rationalize our sins when others tell us what we want to hear. Still, we remain liars when we refuse to repent.
